Round table "MUSEUMS AND SCHOOL EDUCATION" - postface

On February 7, 2014 in Burgas Free University in a round table "Museum and School Education". The meeting was attended by 30 representatives of schools in Burgas region, the chief of the RIE - Burgas, a representative of the District Administration, the Director of department "Education" in Burgas Municipality, directors of the museums in Malko Tarnovo and Karnobat and a representative of the museum in Pomorie.

The meeting gathered representatives of all education institutions in Burgas and are willing to work for the establishment of a better relationship between schools and cultural institutions. The meeting began with a presentation of each museum exposition: Archaeological (presented by Milen Nikolov - Director of Burgas Museum), Historical (Ivanka Deleva) Ethnographic (Plamena Kirova) and Natural-history (Dr. Svetla Dalakchieva). With a short presentation representatives of Municipal Children's Complex eagerly promoted their successful practices in collaboration with the museum.

The event continued with a heated discussion, filled with notes of criticism on both sides, a lot of good ideas and proposals for joint initiatives. Clarified were issues on the way students can be taken out of the school grounds and lead on a visit to museums or archaeological sites in the city.
