The official presentation of the monograph "The Refugee Question in Bulgarian-Turkish Relations and the Settlement of Eastern Thracian Refugees in Bulgaria in the Period 1913-1925" is coming up

On July 11, Thursday, from 6:00 p.m., in the courtyard of the Ethnographic Museum at ul. "Slavyanska" No. 69 will host an official presentation of the monograph "The Refugee Question in Bulgarian-Turkish Relations and the Settlement of Eastern Thracian Refugees in Bulgaria in the Period 1913-1925".
The author of the thematic research is Dr. Ivanka Deleva, curator in the "History" department of RIM - Burgas. Scientific reviewers of the publication, which represents the author's doctoral dissertation, are prof. Dean Shtelian D. Shterionov from the Institute for Population and Human Research at the BAS and Assoc. Dr. Stefan Minkov from Shumen University "Bishop Konstantin Preslavski".

The book was printed in the publishing house of BAS "Prof. Marin Drinov".
The main contributions of the monograph will be presented by Assoc. Dr. Vanya Stoyanova from the Institute for Historical Studies at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and scientific secretary of the Thracian Scientific Institute at the Union of Thracian Societies in Bulgaria. The scientific interests of Assoc. Stoyanova are in the fields of new and recent history of Bulgaria and the Balkans; The Thracian question, studied in all its aspects – territorial, diplomatic, ethno-demographic, enlightened, etc., as well as the Macedonian question; nations and nationalism; Bulgarian communities abroad; minorities; church; religion; memory. A special contribution has been made by Assoc. C. Stoyanova, materials about the organized Thracian movement and its activities for the protection of the Thracian Bulgarians and the promotion of their cause, as well as information about prominent figures who connected their lives with the activities in Thrace and the Thracian Bulgarians.

***Ivanka Deleva was born in 1973 in the city of Burgas. In 1996, he graduated with a master's degree in "History and Geography" at VTU "St. St. Cyril and Methodius". In the period 2020 - 2024, he is a part-time doctoral student at the Episcopal Konstantin Preslavski University of Applied Sciences in the doctoral program "New and Latest General History (History of the Balkan Peoples), and in 2024 he is defending his doctoral dissertation. Since 1999, he has been working at the Regional History Museum - Burgas as a curator in the "History" department.
