Semolina until golden and very stirring

On June 25, 2024 (Tuesday) at 10:30 a.m. in the Ethno-Kitchen of the museum (at 69 Slavyanska Street), the Armenian community in Burgas will present its traditional dishes. The event is part of the project "Old Burgas through the eyes of Dr. Melkonyan", in which the Church Board of Trustees at the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church "Surp Khach" is a partner of the Burgas Regional History Museum. The Armenian Charitable Society "HOM" chaired by Margaret Shahinyan will also participate in the preparation of Armenian specialties.
Until the beginning of July, you can still see the exhibition "Old Burgas through the eyes of Dr. Melkonyan", exhibited in the hall on the first floor of the Ethnographic Museum.
Armenian cuisine is delicious and extremely diverse, and Armenian women are unsurpassed housewives and can amaze even the most demanding tasters.
We, at the museum, remain faithful to our original idea in the Ethnocuisine to prepare traditional but easy dishes from popular and affordable products, so as not to forget the taste of real.
That is why our guests Aznif and Margaret will make two types of Armenian meatballs on the spot, according to old family recipes - parsley and lentils. In the season of herbs and greens, it is logical that finely chopped aromatic and fresh parsley is not just a spice, but the main ingredient. There will also be finely ground bulgur in the red lentil meatballs. They say that Armenian semolina halva is very appetizing and different, crumbly like sand. We will try warm-warm semolina halva – a beloved dessert with a wonderful aroma, a memory of grandmother with a taste of childhood. Come!
