A project of the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas for archaeological excavations and field conservation was approved for financial support in 2020. It is to continue the study of the castle of the medieval town of Rusokastro. The financing amounts to BGN 23,780 and is granted by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria. In the group where the project is applying - at the most important archeological sites in Bulgaria, only 36 projects from all over the country have been approved.
To a large extent the positive ranking is a consequence of the fact that the project is co-financed for another year by the Municipality of Kameno. In 2020, it will allocate BGN 35,000 for the continuation of the archeological excavations.
In parallel with the archeological work, the design of conservation, socialization and exposure of the studied fortress walls, towers, buildings and other facilities in the castle is carried out.
