Experts from four countries met in Burgas in connection with the work on the EuRiCa project aimed at digitization and preservation of the ritual kitchen. Representatives of partners from educational and cultural institutions from Bulgaria, Latvia, Portugal and Italy held their working meeting in the halls of the "Georgi Baev" gallery-museum. They discussed the results achieved so far and the prepared manuals for the digitization and popularization of recipes from the ritual kitchen in social networks.
Against the background of world globalization, there is a growing demand for authentic products, for culinary and cultural tourism related to the traditions of the local population. They include ritual cuisine, customs, and the specifics of the lifestyle of people in a given region. The main goal is to preserve traditional cuisine as a manifestation of heritage and folklore, making it easily recognized and accessible thanks to the digitization of recipes from different parts of Europe.
During the meeting, part of the stages of the project that have already been completed were discussed - the developed methodological guide that enables cultural institutions and museums to use for electronicization, presentation and publication of ritual recipes with practical aspects and knowledge. The entire training course will be freely accessible on Youtube and on a specially created online platform on the RHM-Burgas website.ROME-Burgas, presented to its partners a part of its collection of already digitized ritual recipes representing the traditional dishes for Nicholas Day.
EuRiCa is a project under the European Union Erasmus+ Program, 2020-1-BG-KA202-079046. The leading organization is the Burgas Free University in partnership with the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas, the Municipality of Losada and the University of Portocalense - Portugal, the Speha Frezia Association - Italy, the Latvian College of Culture and the National Open Air Ethnographic Museum.
