Maria Doseva

Architect Maria Doseva lived and worked in Burgas throughout her life until 1973. She graduated from the university in Darmstadt, Germany in 1917. For almost 60 years she designed some of the most significant buildings in Burgas such as hotel "Czechoslovakia", the houses of Dimitar Korudzhiev, P. Kyulyumov, Ayanov and many others. The works of one of the first women architects are characterized by continuous search for the new and use of all the latest architectural style trends in Europe as well as the pursuit of maximum purgation of eclecticism. Arch. Maria Doseva started her career at the turning point of the architecture design, when the new structures and materials created conditions for the development of art movements such as Secession, Cubism and modern architecture.
