Beach weekend at the Burgas Museum?! Here is what we have prepared for you

In the days of the Beach Weekend (from 9 to 11 July), RHM Burgas is traditionally included with interesting topics.

In the Archaeological Exposition of RHM Burgas (July 9 - 11), citizens of Burgas and guests of the city can see a single-seater boat. The boat was discovered in 1975 in the Burgas Bay, near the shipyard, after a severe storm. It is probable that centuries ago the boat sank in the area of the Mandra Lake spill, and the strong wave from the storm dragged it into the sea. It is made of a whole log of ash - a tree species, widespread in the area. There were traces of the use of metal tools with which the hull was treated. Five more such boats are known from the Black Sea coast - two were found in the area of Lake Varna, two in the bay of Sozopol and one near the village of Skala, Karnobat region. Researchers date them to the 1st millennium BC.

The impressive visiting exhibition of NAIM BAS "The Thracian Silver" would also be interesting for the visitors.

Welcome…, for a short walk through part of Antiquity!

At the stand you can also buy the Catalog "SILVER OF THE THRACIANS".

In the Historical Exposition of RHM Burgas, 31 Lermontov Street, the Beach Weekend is presented with images and exhibits related to the history of the resort maritime business in Burgas. The warm sea baths, built in 1895, provide all the necessary amenities, and the wide beach with the only iron sand on the whole Black Sea coast is useful for rheumatic and nervous diseases, tuberculosis and others. On photo-documentary boards and in the museum windows you can see views from the Burgas beach, illustrated album "Burgas" (1934), advertising leaflet "The King of the Black Sea Burgas" (1939) and a tourist leaflet with a map of the surrounding resorts.

In the museum souvenir shop, everyone can find a small piece of Burgas, in the form of magnets and cards, illustrating Burgas as a seaside tourist town and a desired travel destination, as well as book editions related to the history of the city.
