St. George brings summer and St. Demetrius - winter

In spite of the sun outside smiling down on us and making us happy, now in its second month there is the letter R. Jokes have started popping up on the internet that we change the tires first, then put the cabbage on or vice versa... And all this reminds us little by little that winter is coming. In folklore, it starts with the month of Mitrov, or in other words, with October. The beginning of the winter holiday calendar marks the beginning of Mitrovday (October 26). Who is St. Dimitar? What are the folk ideas about him? Who are the craftsmen who celebrate on this day? These and other questions will be answered by Dr. Plamena Kirova - Chief Curator at the Ethnographic Exposition of the Regional Historical Museum - Burgas with her presentation "St. George brings summer and St. Dimitar - winter.".
