On May 21 (Saturday) Burgas welcomes the European Night of Museums with a rich program
On May 21 (Saturday) the Regional Historical Museum of Burgas will celebrate its "Night of Museums". The expositions of Regional Historical Museum Burgas will offer its visitors a diverse program of exhibitions and events, which can be viewed from 18:00 to 00:00 with free admission.
Traditionally, at 18:00 the brass band of the Municipality of Burgas will give an official start, which will announce the central street Bogoridi with its own open-air concert.

Archaeological exposition, 21 Aleko Bogoridi Blvd.
The exhibition "Medieval sgraffito ceramics from the Bulgarian Black Sea coast" will be presented at the Archaeological Exposition. This is the first and only such exhibition of its kind, which presents the most elite specimens of medieval artists from the Black Sea coast from the XII-XIV centuries. These are dishes, bowls with different images - plant, geometric, animal and more. Among the exhibits are such world monuments as the leopard from Rusokastro, the deer from Balchik and the panther warrior from Sozopol. The exhibition is joint, of the museums from Balchik, Varna, Nessebar, Pomorie, Burgas and Sozopol. The permanent archeological exposition presents chronologically the earliest history of the lands around the Burgas Bay from 6,000 BC. Until the Middle Ages. Curious for the visitors are the finds from the sites, which the Burgas archaeologists have been studying in recent years. The newest are those from the ritual complex from 6-4 century BC. from Izgrev district and from Cape Chiroza, Kraimorie district.
Ethnographic exposition, 12-14 Knyaz Alexander Batenberg Street
In the Ethnographic Exposition visitors will have the opportunity to see the exhibition "Firefighting - Bulgarian magic with fiery embers" presented with photographs from 1946 and 1953, which illustrate in detail the fireworks festival on June 3 (old style) in the village of Bulgari and its culmination - dancing on the fiery embers. This event is organized on the occasion of the European Night of Museums, which this year coincides with the day on which we honor the Holy Apostles Constantine and Helen.
The permanent ethnographic exposition presents the traditional culture and way of life of Burgas and the region.
Historical exposition, 31 Lermontov Street
The visiting exhibition "Monastery Culture of the Balkans" by IM Samokov will be opened in the Historical Exposition. It is a small part of the numerous photographic works of Prof. Mihail Enev, a lecturer at the National Academy of Arts, the man to whom we owe our ideas about what is stored in the monasteries in our country and on Mount Athos.
The permanent historical exposition gives visitors the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the distant past of the city of Burgas. In the icon hall you can see the rich collection of samples of Christian art. Valuable and saved treasures are exhibited in the Hall of Donated and Saved Treasures, showing the power of fashion trends in the 19th century.
Natural Science Exposition, 30 Konstantin Fotinov Str
In the Natural Science Exposition, visitors will be able to see the new permanent exhibition "The World in a Grain of Sand". It presents a rich collection of sands from around the world, which the museum has been collecting for 8 years. The window features the most interesting exhibits from all continents, including Antarctica, from various beaches - golden (Copacabana in Brazil), green (Papacolea, Hawaii), white and pink (Bermuda, Bahamas, Barbados and Cuba), black France, Costa Rica). Most are the sands of sea beaches, but there are rivers and deserts (Sahara, Arizona, Utah, Dubai).
In the only natural science exposition in the region of the Southern Black Sea Coast, visitors can see the geo-historical development and modern natural diversity of Southeastern Bulgaria. Inhabitants of the World Ocean are also presented in the permanent exposition.
