On February 6 (Thursday), 2020, 12:00 h. the documentary exhibition "Resurrection of Freedom" will be officially opened in the Exhibition Hall of the Burgas Historical Museum (31 Lermontov Str.). The occasion is the 142nd anniversary of the end of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 and the Liberation of Bulgaria. The exhibition is a work of the Bulgarian State Archives Agency and is invited by RHM-Burgas and Territorial State Archives-Burgas.
The preparation of the photo-document boards is a joint initiative of the archives of the Republic of Bulgaria, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Romania. They include documents, photographs and engravings representing the warring countries, the course of hostilities, life during the war and its final stage with the signing of the San Stefano and Berlin Peace Treaties. Many of the materials are presented for the first time to the public of Burgas. Their originals are in the archival repositories of central and regional archives of Bulgaria and Romania, the Russian State Military-Historical Archive, the Russian State Historical Archive and in the Foreign Policy Archive of the Russian Empire.
The exhibition "Resurrection of Freedom" is included in the program of the Municipality of Burgas for the celebration of February 6 - Liberation of the city of Burgas from Ottoman rule and can be visited until February 26, 2020.
