The exhibition "Nestinarstvo - the Bulgarian magic with fire" from Regional historical museum Burgas will be opened on May, 10 in the Ethnographic House at Assenovgrad.
It includes 11 info boards with photographs from 1946 to 1953, presenting in detail the fire-dancing celebration on June 3 in the village of Bulgari and its culmination - a dance on a fiery embers, as well as the last main fire-dancer - Zlatna Daskalova. Author of the exhibition is Assoc. Tsonia Drazheva (1954-2013) - long-time director of the Burgas Museum.
The information boards are complemented by original exhibits - authentic nestinarian costume, leather tappet from 70 years ago, as well as the icons of the Virgin Mary and the holy Constantine and Elena.
The exhibition has already been presented at the National Ethnographic Museum of Poland in Warsaw as well as in many places in Bulgaria - REM - Plovdiv, EMO "Etar", HM - Kavarna, BAS - Sofia, RHM - Haskovo, RHM - Shumen, in the Specialized Museum - Tryavna, HM - General Toshevo, HM - Karnobat, HM - Velingrad, RHM - Sliven and others.
