The Burgas Museum shows the nature, traditions and cultural heritage of Strandzha this weekend

Regional Historical Museum - Burgas will participate in the thematic weekend organized by the Municipality of Burgas, dedicated to Strandzha. Highlights of the exhibitions will be shown under the motto: "Nature, traditions, customs and cultural heritage of Strandzha."

The Archaeological Exposition at 21 Bogoridi Blvd. shows unique artifacts, some of which researchers have found in sites studied on the territory of Strandzha. Next to the museum building is exhibited a dolmen from the village of Belevren - a model representing the megalithic culture of the Thracian tribes in the II - I millennium BC. Also on display are elements of ancient metallurgy, finds from the Coastal Strandzha, coins, various interesting objects found in the Roman colony Deultum, which is located at the foot of the mountain. One of the most interesting exhibits related to Strandzha and exhibited in the Archaeological Museum are the tombstones of the Bimbalovi family from the village of Fakia. Stefan Karadja is considered a descendant of this famous family.

In the Ethnographic Exposition at 69 Slavyanska Street you can see an exhibition of RIM - Burgas, dedicated to firefighting and watch a film dedicated to the games in the fire. The production was shot in 1965 and is at the Boyana Film Studio. It presents authentic footage from the traditional rituals held in the fire-fighting village of Bulgari. The exposition presents Strandzha costumes, mummer's costume, jewelry and household items.

The natural science exposition at 30 Fotinov Street shows the nature in Strandzha. In it you can see many of the most interesting representatives of the fauna - mammals, birds, insects and coastal inhabitants of the sea depths. Visitors will also learn interesting details about their lives. Photographs and herbariums show the plants, most of which are difficult to find and identify in nature by a layman. The collection of minerals gives a detailed idea of ​​the riches of the beautiful Bulgarian mountains.

The working hours of the Archaeological, Ethnographic and Natural Science Exposition are from 10.00 to 19.00. The prices of the entrance tickets are: for adults - 5 BGN, pupils, students and pensioners - 2 BGN, children up to 7 years - free visit.
