The traditional Saturday lecture of the Regional historical museum Burgas will be on the topic "Russo-Turkish War of 1877 - 1878". The topic was prepared by the historian Vladimir Zrotev.
"It must be admitted that our notion of the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878 is too idyllic and naive in nature. This idea has nothing to do with the objective course of the processes and phenomena associated with this war, "says the author of the lecture in advance.
"Our idea of this war comes down to a few heroic and opoetized / by Ivan Vazov - for example / battles at Shipka and Pleven and one, almost without a problem, triumphant, liberation march after the fall of Pleven. However, an objective reading of this war will show that it is a very difficult and extremely complex military campaign that is full of dramatic twists and turns. The war is being waged with extreme force on both sides. Streams of blood are being poured, "Vladimir Zrotev commented.
The event is scheduled for March 7th, from 11:30 h., in the hall of the Historical Museum, at 31 Lermontov Str.
