On April 23, 2012 from 10.00 to 16.00, the residents and guests of Burgas will have the opportunity to visit the Natural-History museum of Burgas free of charge (30 K.Fotinov st., Burgas) and leave their messages - written or painted on recycled paper with natural dyes. This is our way to speak out in defence of the planet at a time when climate change and pollution are among the biggest threats facing humanity.
The event is organized by Regional Historical Museum Burgas in partnership with Hypermarket Masterhaus - Boshnakov OOD.
The idea to celebrate Earth Day originates from the 1970 in the U.S. and Canada. On April 22, millions of Americans participate in demonstrations and urge politicians, statesmen, business circles to include the environment in their priorities. Since 1990, the celebration also includes other countries and has become an international holiday. The aim is to unite as many people on the planet as possible in environmental protection events. International Earth Day is observed in Bulgaria since 1993 so our country is one of the first countries that joined the international celebration of Earth Day and contribute to a cleaner and healthier environment for the preservation of life on the planet.
