Jewelery items from the Boyar Treasure, found near the village of Dolishte, Varna, will be exhibited in the Treasure Hall of the Burgas Archaeological Museum (21 Bogoridi Str.)
The set of female jewelery is made up of two silver bracelets, solid silver earrings with gilt, a silver necklace with a glass paste jewelry box. They were made in the elite goldsmiths 'shops of Bulgaria and Byzantium in XIII and XIV century in various goldsmiths' techniques. It is believed that the ornaments belonged to members of the Bolyar families of the Second Bulgarian State.
The exposition is supplemented with silver jewelery from the collection of RHM-Burgas, which illustrate the tendencies in the medieval decorations.
The exhibition will be opened at 18.00 on 19 May as part of a program for the Night of Museums in Burgas.
