In March, RHM - Burgas applied to the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria for a session to carry out specialized conservation and restoration activities for immovable cultural heritage, program 1: "Preservation of immovable cultural heritage 2021." Out of 80 projects, only 20 have been approved, one of which is that of RIM - Burgas for the design of a complete renovation of the building of the Historical Museum - Burgas, at 31 Lermontov Street. It is planned to prepare a technical project for a new roof, drainage, facades, fences, storage, landscaping, conservation of walls and columns of Aytos stone. The allocated amount is BGN 9,960. After the preparation of the project, a coordination procedure is forthcoming at the National Institute for Immovable Cultural Heritage, because the building of the Historical Museum is an immovable cultural value of local significance.
The old three-storey house, which houses the museum, was built by the Greek merchant Achilles Ioannidis in 1901. In 1981 it was given to the Burgas Museum.
