"The Sea Garden in Burgas - decorative trees and shrubs collected from different parts of the world" is the subject of the museum lecture this Saturday. The biologist from the Natural History Museum Bozhana Ribarova will present to the audience the history of the Sea Garden in Burgas and the most interesting tree species in its composition.
The favorite place for walks of citizens of Burgas emerges as a small seaside garden set where the tennis courts are located today at the hotel "Primoretz". Its contemporary appearance is acquired after the appointment of the architect Georgi Duhtev as a chief-gardener of Burgas in 1910. Under his direction the designated area for the garden is planted and shaped with alleys. In 1912, more deciduous and evergreen trees, decorative shrubs, the first colored figures were planted. The park was completely finished in 1924, and for the enrichment of the vegetation was supplied with new species from Hungary, Turkey, Italy, France, Syria and Lebanon.
The lecture "The Sea Garden in Burgas - decorative trees and shrubs collected from different parts of the world" will be held on March 30 at 11:30 as part of the traditional lecture in the Ethnographic Museum at 69 Slavyanska Street. The entrance fee is preferential - for adults 2 BGN and for students and pensioners - 1 BGN.
