Let's knead palyanytsia – traditional Ukrainian bread

On September 5 (Thursday) at 16:30 in the Ethnokitchen of RHM Burgas (ul. Valeria Levkivska, director of the Ritual Culture of Ukraine Foundation, will prepare authentic Ukrainian bread. According to an old family recipe, she will knead palyanytsia, as Ukrainians call white wheat bread. While the dough is rising, the guests will not be bored, but will be able to watch the presentation "Ritual Code. Culture of Baking and Bread Consumption in Ukraine". At the same time, in the yard of the Burgas Ethnographic Museum will be exhibited five paintings painted by the young students of the art school of Yulia Krasovska - Yulia Krasovska Art School in Burgas. The plots in them are related to different festive rituals, but they are united by food as a cultural code. These are the paintings: "Forty Saints. Larks" by Marie Varbut (15 years old); "Easter. Easter Basket" by Petya Dineva (12 years old); "Honey Save. Poppy by Ivelina Prodanova (16 years old); Andria (Kalita) Rite "Kalita's Bite" of Erika Korinitz (16 years old) and "Christmas. Christmas Cookies" by 12-year-old Kristian Dinev.
