Public premiere of the book "Ancient Vasiliko. Historical and Archaeological Research”

On September 2, Friday, from 17.00, on the Town Square in the town of Tsarevo, the latest edition of Regional Historical Museum Burgas "Ancient Vasiliko. Historical and Archaeological Research”. The author of the study is Dr. Milen Nikolov, director of the Burgas Museum. For the first time, unknown facts about the ancient history of the sea city are presented, according to which the beginning of the Thracian habitation here dates back to the 6th century BC, and from the 12th century to the present day, the settlement developed without interruption of life, which making it one of the oldest on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
The book publishes for the first time numerous unknown data and artifacts from the archaeological research in 2012 at the Church of the Assumption in Vasiliko.
The publication is fully financed by the Municipality of Tsarevo.
The book will be presented by Prof. Dr. Plamen Pavlov, lecturer in medieval history and History of Byzantium at the St. Cyril and St. Methodius University of Veliko Tarnovo. Professor Pavlov is a leading world medievalist, author of over 30 monographs and hundreds of studies and articles on medieval history and culture of the Balkan countries.
The entire team involved in the creation of the book will be present.
Together with the premiere of the edition, the exhibition "Tsarevo through the years", also prepared by the Municipality of Tsarevo, will be opened.
